The Gremi Artesà Tèxtil de Catalunya is the representation of a group dedicated to the production, promotion, creation and provision of services within the framework of the textile artisan sector, and is one of the main defenders of its principles and traditions, without neglecting contemporaneity.
UN GUILD WITH HISTORY
Founded between 1944 and 1946, this institution continues the work of the former Guild of Master Weavers, which was founded in 1262. Among its members there are representatives of trades with a long tradition, such as weavers (in different techniques), printers, upholsterers, embroiderers, dressmakers, hatters…
OUR GOALS
From a Guild that wants to maintain the textile crafts, we work to encourage, develop and promote textile crafts in our country. Since 2004 we have been founding members of the FAAOC (Federation of Associations of Craftsmen of Catalonia) and, in addition, we collaborate and actively cooperate with other entities linked to crafts, such as the CCAM ( Consortium of Commerce, Crafts and Fashion) of the Generalitat de Catalunya, we are also partners of PIMEC (Micro, small and medium-sized company Catalan Association) and Ofici i Art (national magazine of the artisan sector). It is necessary for crafts to have a relevant place in our society, they are our reference, where everything was born, and it is our task to preserve them.

The CDMT ensures the preservation of textile heritage and works with the desire to offer specialized and informative knowledge to the largest possible number of public based on historical and contemporary textile products.
